The topic of hybrid cats is controversial. We cannot deny that, in order to produce these unique cats, wild felines had to be taken from their natural habitat. This is not without consequence, both at the individual and collective level, and it calls for careful ethical reflection.

First, it is worth remembering that hybridisation is a phenomenon that occurs in nature and has even contributed to the emergence and evolution of certain species. Although it comes with challenges, we believe it is possible to develop hybrid cat breeds in an ethical and responsible way.

At the individual level, we believe it is essential that the keeping of wild felines be controlled and supervised, to ensure they live in a suitable environment and that their specific physical and psychological needs are met.

At the collective level, we believe it is vital to make sure we do not endanger the survival of wild felines through the breeding of hybrid cats. For this reason, we advocate the use only of felines born in captivity in hybridisation programmes.

Finally, we want to emphasise that, in the perspective of developing a new hybrid cat breed, the contribution of wild felines is only temporary. The breeders' goal is to arrive at a unique cat breed in its own right.
